Ampersand Arts minutes: Feb 13, 08 - Taken by Trish

Call to order: 7:35

    * Minutes approved, with changes. Barhoppers dates are off, Dress Rehearsal is March 24, show dates are March 30 and 31, and April 6 and 7.
    * Officer reports.
          o None
    * Committee reports

          o Fundraiser – didn’t meet. Will try to meet before next meeting.
          o Website- Updated website, Javahoppers still not on there. Photos from This is how it goes not on there. Trish to create and set up a photobucket account. Bylaws aren’t coming on site, Brooks to look into that.
          o Barhoppers- Discussed doing campaign commercials this time, like the PSAs last time. Lola is doing posters for show. Sherry and Chuck are going to do the door each night. Discussed the possibility of doing a “Best of” barhoppers in 2010. We’d like posters up by Good Friday.
    * Old Business:
          o NOTLD Bell is in, we are going to give it to the Oak Grove board during a board meeting with the offer to engrave it for them if they decide they’d like something on there.
          o We’d like to give a $100.00 donation to Oak Grover for Margaret’s passing.
          o TIHIG- Show went well. We need to discuss with future directors about board members in programs, eliminating comp tickets, selling ad spaces, performances spaces, and tickets in general. Production members to handle this .
          o Writers Group- Jenni is going to talk to Heath before we purchase an ad for the group. Had some script submissions for Barhoppers from the group.
          o Chuck- We are a corporation now. 501(c)3 paperwork will be worked on after tax season. Chuck is going to handle this.
    * New Business:

          o Greg- Would like to discuss doing play readings. Invite people to do play readings to get ideas to do shows. Local writers too. Unanimous agreement from the board to go forward with this, including looking up legalities and rights issues for doing this.
          o Earth Day and Staunton Jams- our involvement in Earth Day is questionable, we’ll discuss at the next meeting. Staunton Jams is May 17th this year. Greg to talk to Sara Lynch about our involvement this year.
          o Children’s theater- discussed starting to do some children’s programs. Created a committee to look into this. Emily to chair, Jenni, Trish, and Sherry are on committee.
    * New MembersMeagan from Kronos possibly.
